GUM MASTIC

It is a resin obtained from gumwood. It is used in Turkish cuisine and Greek cuisine, as well as in pharmaceutical production. Its name is derived from Chios (Sakız) Island, where it is traditionally produced. Gum mastic which is actually in liquid form is dried in the sun and turned into hard and dispersed translucent droplets.
